in my series of dead birds: a Jackdew. As it was laying in sunlight, it did not look as dark as they would look when you see them alive.People often dislike seeing dead animals and also art ,showing them. Still, it is all part of our life and nature and you can not ignore death and look the other way. I regularly see dead birds,while walking a park, or on the streets. It touches me to see them. After I photographed them in the surroundings I found them ,I regularly take them home for a closer look and to paint them. I use different styles for them . This one was painted in gouache,with a little use of black ink.
